Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa
Your tour guide will meet you at Lhasa airport or train station and transfer you to your hotel by car. After check-in, take some time to rest and adjust to the high altitude.
If you’re feeling up to it, you can visit Potala Square for a leisurely walk. In the evening, the colorful fountain show and illuminated Potala Palace make for stunning photos.

Day 2: Lhasa City Tour: Potala Place and Johkang Temple
In morning, go to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and a tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc.
In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during Songtsen Gonpo's reign by princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty, 647 A.D, and its famous Barkor Kora. (Notice: the sequence of sightseeing might be changed based on the reservation of Potala Palace).
Day 3: Lhasa City, Sera Monastery, prepare for bike ride
Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera.
Situated at the foothill of a mountain, Drepung monastery was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once home of 10000 monks and Ganden podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the government centre during the fifth dalai lama and later moved to the famous potala palace.
After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist Scriptures debating held in the courtyard mostly around 6:00 - 7:30 in the afternoon.
Day 4: Lhasa - Chushur - Gonggar, riding along Lhasa River (Ride 80km, 6 hrs)
Today marks the start of your biking journey. Leaving Lhasa, you’ll cycle along the Tsangpo River, crossing its bridge and heading toward the foot of Khangbala Pass (3,700 m). The route is well-paved, mostly flat, and easy to ride, offering wide, gentle views of the Lhasa River along the way.
By evening, you’ll reach Gonggar County, located near Lhasa Airport.

Day 5: Gonggar - Khangbala Pass - Yamdrotso Lake - Nangartse (Ride 110km, 10 hrs)
Today’s ride is challenging, with a 25-kilometer continuous uphill stretch that may take 5–6 hours to cycle—or walk while pushing your bike. Make sure to carry plenty of water along the way. Highway 307 winds up through the valley, and halfway up, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Brahmaputra Valley. At the Gangbala Mountain Pass (4,990 m), take in the breathtaking panorama of Yamdrotso Lake.
After descending, you’ll ride along the lakeshore, with opportunities to rest and enjoy the scenery. The day ends in Nangartse County, where you’ll stay overnight in a comfortable guesthouse.

Day 6: Nangartse - Karola Glacier - Gyantse (Ride 102km, 10 hrs)
Today’s ride takes you over the Karola Glacier (5,110 m) and the Smila Pass (4,335 m). After descending toward the lake, you’ll encounter several steep sections with ups and downs, offering breathtaking views of Karola Glacier and the green waters of Manla Dam along the way.
The final stretch of the day is a flat road leading straight to Gyantse, where you’ll stay overnight in a comfortable hotel.

Day 7: Gyantse - Pelnan - Shigatse (Ride 95km, 8 hrs)
Today’s ride is easy and relaxing, following a scenic route from Gyantse County to Shigatse City with no major climbs. Along the way, you’ll pass charming villages surrounded by lush farmland. Feel free to stop, rest in the fields, or chat with local farmers.
If you like, you can take a short detour to visit the historic Shalu Temple.

Day 8: Shigatse - Xietongmen (Ride 86km, 8 hrs)
Avoiding the busy China–Nepal Highway, today’s route follows a quieter paved road along the Brahmaputra River, passing farmland and villages on the wide, flat river plains.
You’ll ride from Shigatse to Xietongmen County, located near the halfway point of this beautiful highway.

Day 9: Xietongmen - Phuntsoling Monastery - Lhatse (Ride 99km, 9 hrs)
Today’s ride follows the scenic Brahmaputra River, passing through charming Tibetan villages and meeting friendly local farmers. The route is easy, giving you the chance to relax and enjoy some leisure time by the riverbank.
The day’s highlight is Phuntsoling Monastery, a historic and beautifully decorated monastery featuring stunning murals and a peaceful Buddhist complex near the river.
You’ll end the day in Lhatse Town.

Day 10: Day 10: Lhatse - Gyatso la Pass 5248m - Pelba (Ride 84 km, 10 hrs)
Today is a challenging ride with potentially unpredictable weather as you cross Gyatso La Pass, the highest point on National Highway 318 at 5,248 meters. You may experience all four seasons in a single day—rain, snow, hail, and sun.
The highlight of the day is catching your first glimpse of Mount Everest from the pass, its peak rising like a white triangle against the sky.
After descending from the pass, the road becomes smooth and open, giving a feeling of riding straight into the sky.

Day 11: Pelba - Himalaya Nature Reserve Entrance - Tashizong Village - (Ride 65km, 8 hours )
Today, we leave National Highway 318 and head south toward Mount Everest. The ride takes you over the final mountain pass, Gawula Pass (5,200 m), the most spectacular viewpoint on the entire Lhasa–Everest cycling route. From here, you can see five 8,000-meter peaks: Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma—a truly breathtaking panorama.
After descending, the day ends in the village of Tashizong, where you’ll stay overnight in a comfortable guesthouse.

Day 12: Tashizong Village - Basom Village - Rongpuk Monastery - Everest Base Camp (Ride 50km, 6 hours)
Today marks the pinnacle of your journey—Everest Base Camp! The ride from Tashizong is mostly gentle, offering a scenic and wildlife-filled route. Keep an eye out for Tibetan antelope and wild herds, and enjoy a warm cup of traditional butter tea at Basom Village along the way.
As you approach Rongpuk Monastery, the massive, snow-capped peaks of the world’s highest mountain come into full view. Tonight, you’ll rest near the base camp, celebrating the incredible achievement of reaching the top of your Tibetan adventure!

Day 13: Everest Base Camp - Old Tingri (Ride 86 km, 10 hrs)
Today you’ll leave Everest Base Camp and return to the China–Nepal Highway, cycling the 86 km to Old Tingri. The road can be rough in places, making it a challenging ride—but the stunning scenery along the way makes every effort worthwhile. You’ll follow the valley at the foot of the Himalayas, with the world’s highest peaks towering beside you throughout the journey.

Day 14: Old Tingri - Peikutso Lake (Ride 120km, 10 hrs)
Today’s ride takes you from Old Tingri to the breathtaking Peikutso Lake (4,591 m), framed by towering mountains reaching 5,700–6,000 meters. The lake is surrounded by vast pastures, where you’ll encounter nomads and their grazing herds. Tonight, we set up camp on the lake’s shore, allowing you to soak in the stunning high-altitude scenery under the open sky.

Day 15: Peikutso lake - Gontala Pass (4750 m) - Gyirong Town (Ride 130km, 9 hrs)
Today’s ride from Peikutso Lake to Gyirong Town may require some help from our support truck, as there are no suitable overnight stops along the way. Cycle as far as you comfortably can, and ride the rest in the truck.
This is your last day on the high plateau. After a short climb to Gontala Pass (4,750 m), enjoy a thrilling downhill ride to Gyirong Town at 2,700 m. The route is lined with dramatic gorges, offering stunning views all along the way.

Day 16: Gyirong Town - Nepal border, Take Jeep and drive back to Kathmandu(130km, 8 hrs)
After a short 20 km drive to the Nepal border, it’s time to say farewell. Congratulations—you’ve successfully completed the world’s highest cycling adventure across the Himalayas! A Nepalese driver and jeep will be waiting to escort you safely to Kathmandu.
