Frequently Asked Questions about Tibet Family Tour
Is there any age limit for children to travel in Tibet?
There is no age limitation for any tourist who travel to Tibet. But considering the high altitude and relatively harsh weather of the plateau, children who are too young (under the age of 4 or 5) will be much vulnerable against health risks. Long drives, which is usually required during a long journey to EBC or remote regions of Tibet, will also cause pressure to young children as well. But the situation will vary from child to child. In fact, last year we have received two kids at 3 and 5 years old, who travelled happily and safely with their parents. Therefore, it is better to consult your doctor before going to Tibet.
When is the best time to take a family tour in Tibet?
The best time to visit Tibet for a family tour is from May to October, when the weather is warm and comfortable in most regions of the land. It is also more likely to appreciate the most stunning landscape on the plateau, such as blooming flowers and flowing steam in spring, lush forest and green prairie with herding nomads in summer, blue sky and clear mountain views in autumn etc. While, if you only plan to visit Lhasa and its surrounding, winter is also a good season, since it is warm during this time. And travelling to Tibet in winter can also cut down the cost to a great degree.
