  We’ll also help make sure the itinerary works comfortably with Tibet’s altitude, driving distances, road conditions, and local travel requirements. As international travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit and must travel with a licensed local guide, we’ll take care of these details and keep your journey as flexible and personal as possible.

• What is included in a private Tibet tour?

  A private Tibet tour usually includes hotel accommodation, a local English-speaking Tibetan guide, a private vehicle with an experienced driver, Tibet Travel Permit arrangements, entrance fees for the attractions and experiences in your itinerary, listed meals, airport or train station transfers, and travel insurance.

• How much does a private Tibet tour cost?

  The cost of a private Tibet tour depends on your route, trip length, group size, travel season, hotel standard, and any special experiences or upgrades you choose.

  As a general guide, a shorter private Lhasa tour will cost less than a longer journey to Everest Base Camp, Mount Kailash, or western Tibet. Traveling with family or friends can also reduce the cost per person, since the guide and private vehicle costs are shared within your group.

  For example, an 8-day Lhasa to Everest Base Camp private tour may cost around USD 1,900 per person for two travelers, while the per-person price can drop to around USD 1,150 for a group of four.

  Once we know your dates, group size, route, and hotel preferences, we can provide a clear quote based on your actual travel plan.

• Is a private Tibet tour better than a group tour?

  It depends on how you prefer to travel. A private Tibet tour gives you more flexibility, privacy, and personal attention, with your own guide and vehicle and more freedom to adjust the pace, hotels, and experiences around your needs.

  It is especially suitable for families, couples, seniors, friends traveling together, or anyone with special interests or a preferred travel pace. A small group tour, on the other hand, is usually more budget-friendly and a good choice if you are happy to follow a fixed itinerary and enjoy meeting other travelers.

• Do you arrange the Tibet Travel Permit for private tours?

  Yes. Once your private tour is confirmed, we’ll help arrange your Tibet Travel Permit and guide you through the documents needed for the application.

  We recommend contacting us at least 20 days before your trip so there is enough time to process the permit and avoid delays, especially during the peak travel season. If your itinerary includes Everest Base Camp, Mount Kailash, or other restricted areas, we’ll also arrange any additional permits required.

  Once your Tibet Travel Permit is ready, we can deliver it to your address in mainland China, so you can board your train or flight to Lhasa smoothly.

• Can I choose or upgrade my hotels?

  Yes. One of the advantages of a private Tibet tour is that you can choose the hotel standard that suits your comfort level and budget. In major cities such as Lhasa, Shigatse, and Nyingchi, we can arrange anything from comfortable mid-range hotels to higher-end luxury hotels, and you can also upgrade selected nights if you prefer.

  In more remote areas such as Everest Base Camp, Tingri, or western Tibet, hotel choices are more limited, so we’ll recommend the best available option based on your route and travel dates.

  If you have specific preferences, such as a Potala Palace view in Lhasa, oxygen facilities, larger rooms, family-friendly facilities, or a particular hotel brand, just let us know and we’ll do our best to arrange it.

• Can I request a guide who speaks my language?

  Yes. Our private Tibet tours normally include a local English-speaking Tibetan guide, and guides who speak other languages can also be arranged on request, depending on availability.

  We work with guides who speak languages such as German, Spanish, Japanese, and others. If you have a special interest, we can also try to match you with a guide who is especially experienced in areas such as Tibetan culture, photography, birding, or family travel.

You might want extra time to photograph Mount Everest at sunrise and sunset, explore the Potala Palace with a culture-focused guide, look for plateau wildlife, or plan your dates around a Tibetan festival.

• Can I combine Tibet with Nepal or Bhutan on a private tour?

  Yes. A private tour is a great way to combine Tibet with Nepal or Bhutan, especially if you want a smoother connection and a journey planned around your own pace.

  For Nepal, you can travel by overland border crossing or by flight, depending on the current border situation, your itinerary, and travel dates. For Bhutan, the journey normally connects through Nepal, as there is no direct Tibet-Bhutan route.

  We recommend confirming your Tibet tour at least 20 days before entering Tibet to allow enough time for the permit application. During peak travel seasons, festival periods, or for popular routes such as Everest Base Camp and Mount Kailash, booking 2–3 months ahead gives you more choice for hotels, guides, and travel dates.
